The Road to # 1

If you are going to WIN
you have to do one thing.
You have to make the MIND
run the body. NEVER let the
BODY tell the MIND what to do.
The BODY will always GIVE UP.

The Bobcats kicked off to the AAA Kendrick knights friday at 8 p.m. and set the tone for the rest of the evening when Markeith Merrell made a BIG hit on there return man at the 18 yardline. From that point on the Defense of the BOBCATS held kendrick to 3 first downs and 35 yards of total offense. The defense played well with several players making BIG HITS on the Knights. The offense got cranked up in the 2 quarter with 2 T.D's and at half time took a 12-0 lead. IN THE 3RD QUARTER THE BOBCATS WENT ON A 75 YARD 9 PLAY DRIVE TO MAKE THE SCORE 18 TO 0.  At the end of the 3rd quarter the BOBCATS were on the 2 yard line when both teams put there J.V. players in and the J.V. CRISP Co.

DC BOBCATS
CORDELE
Friday Aug.31-7:30pm
Dooly CO. 26- Crisp Co. 13

History repeated its self friday night in Cordele Georgia when the  Dooly County Bobcats defeated the Crisp County Cougars for the second year in a row. This feat had not been accomplished since the 1983 and 1984 seasons. Dooly County amassed 278 yards of offense and with Bulldog Neal gaining 154 yard on 22 carries . Bulldog would have had 200 yards but a 50 yard run was called back in the 4th quarter. The offensive line deserved a lot of credit as they battled the much larger Crisp county line all night long. Most of the offensive lineman have to play defense also while Crisp two platoons. K.J., Michael Felton , K.D. , Charvion West, Marcus Carter, and Freshman Chuckie Manning block well all night long. Tyler Taylor made an increditable interception and returned it for a T.D. to put the Bobcats ahead in the  1st quarter after Crisp had taken an early lead. Little "E" Martin had a 10 yard screen pass for the first T.D. of the night for Dooly County and Tyler Taylor came up with another big play when he caught a 15 yard T.D. pass after Crisp and Dooly were penalized for dead ball fouls. Bulldog made the last T.D. to put the game away in the 4th quarter and from that point on the Bobcats pounded the Cougars in the 4th quarter with first down after first down to run out the clock. May I say that this group of young men are the most unselfish group I have seen in a long time. They want to win as a team. Further , the victory can be attributed to all the hard offseason work put in by these young men in the weight room. i can only ask that the weight program be kept in place in the coming months for the programs continued success. i think it showed its value tonight. Several Bobcats  played well on defense  which include  Markeith Merrel, Bulldog, Tyler, Reggie, Jaracior, Cornithan, and Frist year Quarterback Kenteez Williams was like a veteran all night long. So its off to Hotlanta Saturday for our next game.

South Atlanta
Vs,
D.C. Bobcats
D.C.20 - South Atlanta 13
Saturday Sept. 8, 5:30  Lakewood Stadium

The Bobcats overcame several mistakes and and some very questionable officiating Saturday afternoon and logged there second win of the season. South Atlanta was much improved over last years team. However, the Bobcats were in the scoring zone 5 times in the first half and came away with only 6 points. In the second half the game was a real nail biter with  South Atlanta taking the lead twice before Tyler Taylor made a T.D. grab from 22 yards out and Kentez Williams making a long T.D. run in the 4th quarter for the final margin of victory. Things will have to get better this week with the Number 8 ranked team in the state coming to the "GROVE" for our home opener.

DC Bobcats 8 hawkinsburg 3

Here is a photograph right after the game Friday that was taken at The GENT of the "FAT LADES SINGING"  there new hit the jinx is dead

Even thought there may be a difference of opinion the BOBCATS out played the RED DEVILS through 4 quarters and got the win. Our passing game was a little off with only 1 completion out of 14 attempts and 2 overthrows for sure T.Ds . The defense played stought all night long and in the 4th quarter our kids had beat down a Hawkinsville team that was determined to make a game of it. Tyler Taylor shut down Georgia Tech signee Kamron Riley all night long and hawkinsville never threaten the Bobcats after there first drive of the night. Kentez Williams was the leading rusher with 89 yards on 13 carries with Bulldog Neal having 77 yards on 9 carries. Kentez scored the only T.D. of the night on a 20 yard run in the second quarter and Bulldog added the 2 pt. conversion. This is our first sub region win and we have Irwin county at home in  2 weeks after a week off. Good luck to hawkinsburg in the future.
